Moffat hotels hailed

MOFFAT has been hailed for its hospitality with a global hotel award.

The Limetree Guest House, Rosebery House, Seamore Guest House and The Balmoral Hotel have all achieved top rated status in the LateRooms.Com Simply the Guest Awards 2016.

The quartet of premises were praised by customers who visited last year and awarded the hotels at least 80 per cent in review scores.

Overall, Moffat premises scored well above average and Andrea Tarpey, of LateRooms.com, said: “According to our guests, hotels in Moffat are amongst the best performing in the UK and to receive the honour of a Top Rated status in this year’s Simply The Guest Awards means their standards are at the very top of the league in all areas.

“Top Rated status is now a trusted benchmark amongst those looking for a hotel where they know they can be confident of a truly outstanding stay.”

The accolade is part of the firm’s annual guest awards and is given to a select band of hotels in recognition of their excellent record of positive guest reviews.

Delighted but unsurprised by the accolade is Bob Opray, chairman of Moffat Community Council.

He said: “This is wonderful news, we’ve been saying this for a long time and this is just another feather in the cap of the hotels.

“I’m not surprised because we have very good hotels and the people in them work really hard.”

Hailing the town, Mr Opray said that Moffat’s welcoming atmosphere, selection of hotels, shops and history are all attractions for visitors.

He added: “Now we just need to keep up the standards people are obviously enjoying.

“We need to keep the pressure on the council to get roads fixed and we look forward to seeing the new tourist information shop, being developed by Uncle Roy’s, opening in the town centre.”
