Suspicious fire

A CARAVAN was destroyed in a suspicious fire at Dunscore yesterday morning.

Police Scotland are appealing for witnesses to the blaze, which happened in a lay-by near to the entrance of the Tarmac quarry at Morrington, Dunscore, and was discovered at 1.30 am on Monday.

Constable Jim Kirkpatrick at Thornhill said: “At this stage we are unable to identify the make or type of caravan due to the extent of damage, and we have not received any reports of a caravan being stolen. It does appear from information we have that the caravan arrived at the lay-by sometime between midnight and the time it was spotted on fire at around 0130 hours.”

Anyone who can help with the enquiry is asked to call officers Thornhill on the 101 number.
