Hit and run driver in wall smash

A HIT and run in Moniaive is being investigated by police.

Police Scotland are currently investigating a hit and run road traffic collision which happened sometime on Monday January 18 and the following day, on the A702 road about one mile east of Auchenchayne Farm, Moniaive, Thornhill.

As a result about 10 metres of dry stone wall has been demolished by a vehicle which failed to stop after the crash.

Constable Scott Lockhart at Thornhill said: “It looks like this was a high impact crash as the wall has been badly damaged and there are parts of a bumper, grey in colour left at the scene.

“Also, part of a number plate with 585 RGD on it was left there. Anyone who has any information about this crash should call us on 101.”
