Witness appeal in fatal A701 collision

A YELLOW pick-up is being sought by police in relation to a fatal road traffic collision on the A701 near Parkgate.

Police Scotland have issued a further appeal for witnesses in relation to the accident on Thursday February 4, which saw a collision between a Scania lorry and a Ford Focus being driven by 32-year-old Patricia McAuslan from Glasgow.
She was pronounced dead at the scene. The 43-year-old driver of the HGV was uninjured.
Inspector Neil Hewitson of the Roads Policing Unit said: “Through enquiries we now have information that a yellow coloured pick-up style of vehicle, with an enclosed rear and amber flashing light was present at the scene and that the occupants may have witnessed this crash.
“I would appeal to the driver or occupants of this vehicle to come forward and contact Police Scotland at Dumfries in order to assist with this investigation.”
