SCOTS entry Magic Dream held on to win a competitive sprint race at the weekend in a close-run finish at a fast-going Halcrow Stadium, Gretna.

The three-year-old fancy, owned and trained by regular Gretna owner – trainer Frannie Hill, crossed the line with a half length lead.

He finished ahead of West Cumbrian – based greyhound Hiawatha, a 2/1 shot.

Later, there was a double for Davie Studholm’s Kirkbride kennels with his greyhounds Rab’s Girl and Star both winning their respective middle distance races.
