Detectives are investigating break-ins at the retailer’s petrol station and shop in Carlisle Road, Lockerbie and supermarket in Holme Street, Moffat in the early hours of Sunday and Monday.
In both raids two men dressed in black and wearing balaclava and gloves entered the premises and escaped with significant quantities of tobacco products.
The Lockerbie raid happened about 3.45 am on Sunday when the pair made off with a haul valued at about £5000.
Meanwhile, the Moffat premises were entered around 3.15 am the following day and police are currently establishing the value of goods stolen.
Police are appealing for public help in tracking down the thieves, making enquiries and analysing CCTV near both locations.
Detective Inspector Scott Young, pictured, who is leading the investigation, said: “Our enquiries are at an early stage in what we believe are linked incidents. We are confident that information we require to trace the persons responsible may rest with the local community.”
Officers are asking nearby residents if they heard any unusual noises around the time of the raids or witnessed anyone who could have been making off from the scene.
They are also asking that anyone offered cut price branded cigarettes contact the local CID.
DI Young added: “Information may not seem like much, however, as part of our broader inquiry it could make all the difference in tracking the people responsible.”
Anyone with information is asked to contact Dumfries CID on the non-emergency 101 telephone number or Crimestoppers in confidence on 0800 555 111.
