Townhead Street house goes up in flames

THE sound of fire engines filled the streets of Lockerbie this morning when a derelict house went up in flames.

Fire crews from Lockerbie and Moffat were called out to tackle a blaze on Townhead Street after an emergency 999 call at 4 am.

The crews used high pressure jets to fight the fire and were later joined by crews from Annan and Dumfries.

 

There is so far no indication of the cause of the fire but no one was injured in the incident.
