THERE was a triple triumph for two border kennels at Gretna greyhound racing at the weekend.

The EU ‘Brexit’ vote certainly did not cause any wild fluctuations in the results at Halcrow Stadium with main fancies from two leading trainers unusually taking the top honours in all but one race.

Frannie Hill of Hawick secured sprint victories with Canny Make It, Snowie Dream and K. C. Dream while Dexter Clark made the short journey from Abbeytown to notch up wins over the same distance with Dottie, Spectre and Magnet.

Meanwhile, news reaches me that 12 members of Dumfriesshire and Cumbria Greyhound Rescue, including founding president Arthur Robinson of Waterbeck, are going down the spectacular Laggan Zipwire in Galloway on July 17.

The adventure is being sponsored to raise funds for the worthwhile charity, which homes retired racing greyhounds.
