TWO MEN were seriously injured in a four-vehicle accident near Dumfries on Friday night .
Four other occupants in the vehicles were treated at the at the scene for minor injuries and shock after the crash on the A709 Dumfries – Lockerbie road.
Firefighters from Dumfries and Annan had to free the two men from one of the vehicles after it was severely damaged in the accident, about two miles north east of Dumfries, near Torthorwald village.
Three ambulances crews along with police also attended the scene and the road was closed for more than five hours as an accident investigation was carried out.
