UPDATED: Livestock theft

MISSING livestock have turned up, police said today.

A police investigation was launched earlier this week after the theft of the 49 Texel lambs, two Jersey bullocks, three Friesian bullocks and a Swiss red bullock.

They were taken from a field at Barrachan, Newton Stewart sometime between last Thursday and Monday.

A police spokesman said:”The lambs and bullocks reported stolen from a farm at Barrachan, Newton Stewart on Monday have now been recovered safe and well. Enquiries are still ongoing into the reason for their disappearance from the fields they were contained in.”
