PLANS have come to light about another windfarm which is being proposed near Moffat.
The Watchman Renewable Energy Park would be located 12 kilometres west of the town, near the Daer reservoir and within the South Lanarkshire council area.
Developers Renewco want to put up 16 turbines and a battery storage system.
With an installed capacity of 170 MW, the scheme would be sufficient to power approximately 123,651 homes.
Renewco say they have selected the site because it is situated amongst a cluster of operational, proposed and consented windfarms, has consistently high anticipated wind speeds and the large-scale character of the landscape can accommodate large modern, commercial wind turbines.
Moffat area residents are being invited to find out more via Renewco’s website.
