£20,000 raid at Lockerbie Bowling Club

ESSENTIAL groundskeeping equipment worth £20,000 has been stolen from Lockerbie Bowling Club.

THEFT SCENE . . . Lockerbie Bowling Green

Police are investigating a raid of lawnmowers, a scarifier and a turfer at the club between 9 am on Thursday and 9 am on Friday.

Detective Constable Scott Barr of Police Scotland said: “This seems to have been a targeted raid and would have required a vehicle to remove the property.

“We ask anyone who may have seen anything suspicious around the area of the bowling club over this period to let us know on the 101 system.”

There have been a series of thefts in the area recently, including from the near-by golf club.
