Lamb dies after attack

POLICE in Sanquar are investigating after a four-month-old lamb was found dead in a field near Sanquhar Castle.

It appears to have suffered serious injuries and it is suspected it has been attacked by another animal, possibly a dog.

PC John Carter said: “The route past the field is popular with dog walkers and the Southern Upland Way footpath passes nearby. We are keen to speak to anyone who was in the area between 7-9 am on Monday and saw anything that may help police with their enquiries.”

Officers can be reached by calling 101.
