£212m hospital 'sinking' rumour quashed

A £212 MILLION hospital on the outskirts of Dumfries is on course to open as scheduled this December.

NHS Dumfries and Galloway have given that assurance, debunking enduring rumours that the new building at Garroch Loaning was sinking and that this would delay the project.
A spokesman for NHS Dumfries and Galloway said: “We are happy with the excellent progress made with construction of the new Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary.
“High Wood Health and construction partner Laing O’Rourke are on schedule for handover to the Board in September 2017.
“We will open the new hospital to patients in December 2017.”
