Santa spreads Xmas cheer

DEPRIVED and vulnerable families in Upper Nithsdale are set to get a bit of Christmas cheer.

Santa visited Action for Children’s Upper Nithsdale Families Service in Kelloholm this week with gifts from ‘Night Before Christmas Charity Boxes’.

The sets contain pyjamas, a DVD as well as some sweets and hot chocolate to be enjoyed by children on Christmas Eve.

Service co-ordinator Jill Wright said: “We are very grateful, once again, to ‘Night Before Christmas Charity Boxes’ for their extremely kind donation. These beautiful sets are perfect, allowing children to spend the night before Christmas taking in a festive film in their brand-new pyjamas.

“A ‘Night Before Christmas Charity Boxes’ is a wonderful organisation which brings a great deal of festive cheer through its charity boxes. We are touched that they again chose to donate them to the families supported here in Kelloholm.”

The Upper Nithsdale Families service works with families living in deprivation and facing many day-to-day challenges.
