999 rescue for person stuck in mud

EMERGENCY services were rushed to the yachting village of Kippford late this afternoon after a person was reported to be stuck in the mud

Police, fire and rescue and coastguard personnel answered the call and the coastguard rescue boat from Annan was also sent to the scene along with coastguard teams.

The rescue was being co-ordinated by Belfast Coastguards where a spokesman said: “We received a report of a person stuck in the mud at Kippford and we tasked the coastguards and other services to attend.”
