Officers are investigating the theft of two chainsaws from Gatehouse of Fleet.

The Stihl saws were stolen from a shed, sometime between Wednesday February 18 and Tuesday March 6, and are valued at over £600.

Sergeant Greg Hawker at Castle Douglas said: “We are keen to hear from anyone who may have seen or heard anything suspicious in the last week in the Gatehouse area. We want to hear about any strangers in the area or visitors that may have called in at local farms or houses for any reason.  Callers can report information to us at Castle Douglas on the 101 number, quoting the reference PDG0047680318.”
