£25k timber theft probe

A LORRY trailer and its timber load, worth £25,000, were stolen in a weekend raid at Lockerbie Lorry Park.

Specialist Police Scotland investigation officers are working with local cops to establish what happened there overnight from Friday to Saturday.

The trailer, a red and yellow coloured 13.6m Dennison haulage trailer, was worth around £20,000.

Meanwhile, its timber cargo has been valued at £25,000. The trailer was parked up, waiting to be uplifted.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: “We can confirm that detectives in Lockerbie are investigating the theft of a trailer from a premises in the Johnstonebridge area, which is believed to have taken place overnight between Friday February 18 and Saturday February 19.

“Enquiries have established that the trailer was towed away from the scene by an unknown lorry.

“Enquiries remain ongoing and anyone with information or possible dashcam footage should call police on 101, quoting incident 1289 of 21 February.

“Alternatively, call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, if you wish to remain anonymous.”
