EAST Ayrshire Council this week gave their back to a new National Park in Galloway.
They followed the decision of South Ayrshire Council, who are also supporting it.
And it’s in contrast to last week’s decision by Dumfries and Galloway Council to not make a decision either way yet.
Praising East Ayrshire, Galloway National Park Association chair Rob Lucas said: “The council has shown true vision, taking a decision that will bring real benefits to the people and environment of East Ayrshire. More than that, they have taken a stand for the wider region and the whole of Scotland.
Meanwhile, the official consultation led by Nature Scot closes tomorrow, 14 February.
