WORK is being undertaken to fix drainage problems at Lockerbie’s £621,000 all-weather 3G football pitch.

Matches have been called off due to the waterlogged ground, with Mid-Annandale Football Club’s first game of the season abandoned after 20 minutes due to standing water.
Contractors The Malcolm Group were investigating issues around the pitch.
And Mids secretary George Trudt this week said: “The drainage issue is being attended to this week and should be completed by Friday.
“This involves increasing the number of drainage pores within the 3G carpet.”
Mr Trudt says this is the same work that was undertaken at Newton Stewart and Queens Park’s Lesser Hampden.
