Officials at the Dumfries club want to create a boisterous atmosphere and are aiming for 3000 fans to attend the derby.
The Doonhamers have reached out to local businesses to ask if they would make a donation to purchase discounted tickets for fans to attend the match and bring the noise to Palmerston.
The rallying call post read: “We have been truly appreciative of all the support we have received so far this season. We understand that Christmas is a tough time for many, but we’d love to see as many fans at Palmerston Park for our derby against Annan Athletic.
“Creating a vibrant and thunderous atmosphere is our goal, and we’ll be doing everything we can on the pitch to stir excitement in the stands.
“We’re aiming for 3000 fans to attend on December 28. We hope to get ‘3k for Derby Day’.
“We aren’t where we’d like to be right now, but this is our chance to rally. Let’s show our pride, our passion, and stick together when it matters most.
“Let’s fill the stands and create the blue army once again.”
Discounted tickets have been made available to season ticket holders and then on general sale during the week.
On the pitch, it was a disappointing weekend for both Queens and Annan.
Peter Murphy’s men woes on their travels continued as they lost 2-0 to Kelty Hearts. They are yet to win away in League One.
On the derby, Murphy said: “Annan will be wounded but so are we. “It’s building up to be a great game over the Christmas period. “Hopefully we can get the fans back in and supporting us to maintain our home form. We need to get back on track really quick and that starts on Saturday.
“We’ve got a run of home games up and until February. But we need to pick up points away from home if we have any aspirations to do anything in this league. Our away form needs to drastically be better.”
Concerns have been raised about the versatile Brennan Dickenson after he was was subbed off due to a hamstring injury.
Murphy added: “He felt his hamstring tightening up just as we were making a sub. We had to take him off.
“Hopefully it’s not too bad and that he knows his own body but we’ll assess that and see where we go.
“But on the positive side Fraser Bryden got minutes on the pitch after a long spell out. It’s good to have him back and also good to have Zander Craik training too. Hopefully we’ve got the numbers available and pushing to start over a busy period.”
Meanwhile, Annan player manager Wullie Gibson says his side are looking forward to the contest and wants a reaction after they were thumped 4-0 by Arbroath at Galabank.
Gibson said: “We need to be better than what we were at the weekend.
“Queens have one of the best home records in the league so we know how tough it’s going to be.
“We have to go there with belief and do the basics well first.
“The fans will turn out for us like they have all season and we want to give them a performance to be happy and proud of.”
Despite the poor result, last weekend was a momentous one for Gibson as he played his 700th senior match.
The 40-year-old said: “It’s something I’ll look back on and be grateful and proud of I’m sure, but at the moment it’s just a number. I would have preferred three points than any personal milestone.”
