TWO men have made a brief appearance in court following the recovery of cannabis with a street value of nearly £100,000 from a car on the M74 near Ecclefechan.

Duncan Chell, 53, from Cheshire, and 32-year-old Dean Lynch, from Manchester, were on a petition alleging a charge under the Misuse of Drugs Act and each appeared separately before Sheriff William Anderson at Dumfries.
No plea or declaration was made and each was allowed bail.
