BUSINESS advisers have been helping firms around the region get back to normal following Storm Frank.

Experts from Business Gateway and officers from the council’s economic development service have been out in all the affected towns, visiting the businesses that suffered during the floods. They have been talking to owners and staff about the impact the floods had and any issues they are now facing.

The officials are providing lots of information and support, including how to help with insurance, about potential funding that may be available, if alternative premises may be required, etc.
The team are trying to contact all businesses that were impacted by the flooding. Anyone that hasn’t been contacted and requires assistance or support with regards to specific business continuity is invited to get in touch.
Dedicated phone lines have been set up to help with your calls and can be reached on 01387 273998 or 01387 273992 and emails can be sent to [email protected].
Meanwhile, the Scottish Flood Forum, which is a charity funded by the Scottish Government, has also started a weekly drop in session event in Newton Stewart to provide advice on property and insurance issues in relation to businesses and can discuss how properties can be made more resilient for the future.
Their advisors are also available on 01698 839021 and the website is www.scottishfloodforum. org.
