Carronbridge man in terror claims

A MAN who sent a message on the police website stating that Glasgow was going to be the site of a terrorist attack during the Christmas period has been fined £500 in court.

On Tuesday, Colin Gibson, 46, of Station Cottage, Carronbridge, was told by Sheriff George Jamieson that it had been an extremely foolish thing to do.
Gibson had admitted sending the message on December 12, specifically mentioning the city’s St Enoch Centre and Main Street.
The court was told it was immediately passed to the terrorist unit and a trace led to Gibson who, when confronted, said there might have been something in the news he was concerned about and it was a silly thing to write.
A solicitor said Gibson did not have any recollection of it as he had been drinking, but accepted that it must have been him.
