Police this afternoon called off the hunt for Bobby Thomson, George Crosbie and Jeffrey Stewart, all from Dumfries, who had failed to return home from a walk in the Durisdeer area yesterday evening.
The trio were located about four kilometres east of the village and have all been taken by HM Coastguard helicopter to Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary. No more details have been released about their conditions.
