The first two dogs home in last weekend’s heats, all entered by long-established trainers at the border track, qualified for the wide open feature race.
In the first heat Davie Studholm’s two-year-old Rab’s Girl romped home as favourite ahead of Macca Mini, a five-year-old veteran from David Bowie.
Next heat winner was Legs Eleven, a two-year-old from Maurice Lawman, with the runner-up slot going to Whack, a three-year-old dog, owned and trained by Tony Hopper.
The qualifiers from the last heat are winner Flaming Rosie entered by Tony Hopper and second placed It’s A Ticket, also based ath the Lawman kennels.
