The festival returns to Dock Park, Dumfries, on Saturday August 13 with thousands expected to flock there.
Dubbed Scotland’s largest free youth music event, it will be the highlight of the Youth Beatz Fringe Festival that will see a large number of community based events across Nithsdale.
X Factor winner James Arthur is looking forward to taking the stage, he said: “It’s always a pleasure playing to the Scottish crowds and I’ve been told the atmosphere at Youth Beatz is amazing.
“I can’t wait to come and experience it.”
Joining him will be Cascada, who boast hits such as Everytime We Touch, Miracle, Evacuate The Dancefloor, San Francisco, Summer Of Love and The Rhythm Of The Night.
Front-singer Natalie Horler and her team of producers and writers Yann Peifer and Manuel Reuter have topped charts in more than 20 countries with their dance-pop songs.
Natalie said: “We’re really excited to come to Dumfries to give everyone a great show.”
The headline acts will be supported by local youth talent from the region that includes ONR, Bella and the Bear and Scope.
At this week’s launch, Councillor Tom McAughtrie said: “This year’s festival will run for eight days and will be of the same high quality that the people of Dumfries and Galloway have come to expect and enjoy so much.
“The event has such a great impact on the local economy and the impact on the young people is massive. The acts are really impressive – now we just need to hope for the good weather.”
Youth Beatz 2016 also sees the evolution of the hard hitting immersive and interactive learning experience – The Toon, which deals with issues that affect young peoples’ lives. Topics addressed will include domestic abuse, poverty, alcohol, sectarianism and legal highs.
Over 50 local young people volunteer to be involved in developing this and will be working all summer to put it together.
