Tributes voiced after Nice attack

And words of support have been expressed by the leader of Dumfries and Galloway Council, as the world reacts to shock events in Nice which have left at least 84 people dead.
Councillor Ronnie Nicholson said: “Only eight months ago we mourned for the victims of terrorist attacks in Paris.
“Now once again we mourn for the victims of another murderous act in France overnight, on Bastille Day.”
He added: “I would like to send our deepest condolences to the people of Nice at this tragic time.”
Around the world, political leaders have expressed their shock at events during France’s Bastille Day celebrations in Nice.
The attack began just after 10.30 pm local time when a lorry being driven by a man subsequently identifed as Tunisian-born Mohamed Lahouaiej Bouhlel began weaving through crowds enjoying a fireworks display.
The a 31-year-old delivery driver drove through crowds of people for up to 1.25 miles before coming to a stop, and being shot and killed by armed police.
At least ten children are among the dead following an attack that left at least one British national among the many injured.
Hundreds are in hospital, with 18 in intensive care.
Taking to Twitter to voice her response, Prime Minister Theresa May said: “Shocked and saddened by horrific terror attack in Nice last night. Our hearts go out to the French people.”
