THE BATTLE of Sark, which took place near Gretna, has been added to the list of Historical Battle Sites of Scotland, making it the fortieth site in Scotland.

Taking place in October of 1448, the battle was between around 4000 Scots and 6000 in the English forces.

This was to be the first decisive victory for the Scots over England in 60 years.
