And satisfaction rates at the local campus are higher than the national average, with nearly 90 per cent of students in Dumfries being satisfied overall with their course. This figure is 3.1 per cent higher than the UK higher education sector average.
The National Student Survey (NSS) 2016 also saw scores for ‘Learning Resources’ increase at Dumfries Campus by 18.4% to 94 per cent. This score is also above the university sector average in Scotland and the UK respectively.
Professor Craig Mahoney, principal and Vice-Chancellor of UWS, said: “These are very positive results and demonstrate the progress being made at UWS as we aim to deliver a truly transformational experience for our students.”
He continued: “We always strive to enhance our student experience and will redouble our efforts in the year and indeed years ahead.”
UWS has moved up 16 places in the overall student satisfaction survey table, up to 48th out of 119 UK institutions and up one place in the Scottish table, now ninth out of 17 institutions.
