A MUSICIAN from Dumfries is releasing his debut album

Stoney Broke, 31, has released his new album “If it Ain’t Broke”, which is available to buy now.

Stoney, or Jake Scott, is predominantly a guitarist, however can also play bass guitar, mandolin and drums.
He said: “For the last 12 months, or so, I have maintained a very busy gig schedule, constantly breaking new ground, but lacked the physical recordings to help capitalise on this.
“I decided to record an EP of original material to release and sell at gigs as I had reached a point I was really pleased with the level of songs I had written, including some of the best material to date, and to take Stoney Broke to the next stage.”
Jake went all out to try and get his album to be of the highest quality, recording it at the Lover’s Lane Studios, and having it engineered and the artwork done by industry professionals.
His biggest influences came through his teen years as he developed a love for blues music, as evident through his playing style today.
He said: “All of the blues and classic rock elements I loved have been taken into Stoney Broke, so my own songs hold a little of all those styles, rather than fixing on just one.”
Jake has performed across the region, and will be opening for the Red Hot Chilli Pipers in December at the Easterbrook Hall, Dumfries.
The album is available through the band page, at all gigs and available through ebay, with each album being individually numbered, special edition and vinyl effect.
