And a casting call has gone out for extras to appear in The Wife, which will be filming from October 31 through to December.
Glasgow-based All Talent Agency are fielding the calls for extras.
The Wife adapts the best-selling novel by Meg Wolitzer, which tells the story of a wife plotting to leave her writer husband as the pair travel to an awards ceremony in Finland where he is due to receive a top literary prize.
The film is being helmed by Swedish filmmaker Bjorn Runge, working from a script by Jane Anderson.
And when the project was first announced in May it was stated that the film would shoot primarily in Stockholm in both English and Swedish languages.
Exact locations within the area are yet to be confirmed, but All Talent Agency are seeking for ‘all shapes and sizes, men and women from ages 16 and up’.
Dumfries and Galloway is no stranger to hosting film productions.
Cult classic The Wicker Man shot scenes at locations including Whithorn and Creetown, while thriller The 39 Steps filmed sequences at locations including Morton Castle.
Tom Cruise’s first Mission: Impossible film was shot on the Nith Valley railway line, while The Magdalene Sisters shot at locations around Dumfries.
And more recently, time travel TV series Outlander starring Balmaclellan actor Sam Heughan shot sequences at Drumlanrig Castle near Thornhill.
