Three-vehicle crash closes A75

A CAR driver was taken to hospital early on Monday morning after a crash on the A75 Gretna - Stranraer trunk road.

It happened around 7.20am on the Dumfries bypass between the A709 Lockerbie roundabout and the A701 roundabout to Moffat.

Three vehicles were involved — a white coloured Volvo lorry being driven by a 30-year-old man from County Down, Northern Ireland, a yellow Volvo lorry being driven by a 23 year-old-man from Moffat and a blue coloured Honda Premacy car being driven by a man from Ruthwell, aged 45.

As a result of this collision the Honda car left the roadway and struck a number of trees.

The driver of the car was taken to Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary suffering from Minor injuries.

The roadway at the scene was closed for more than two hours and diversions were put in place in order to recover the vehicles.
