‘Messy’ town hall action call

UNHAPPY locals in Lockerbie voiced their concerns about the ‘messy’ exterior of the town hall this week.

At the town meeting, which took place on Tuesday night, there were many complaints that the building needs cleaning up.

One concerned member of the public said: “The building looked appalling on Remembrance Sunday and it won’t be looking any better for the light switch on Saturday. It’s embarrassing, why are the council not fixing it?”

Issues were also raised at Lockerbie Community Council later that night.

Councillor Gail Macgregor explained that the town hall is currently managed by a management committee and the council’s remit is to keep the building wind and water tight.

She promised to look into the situation along with fellow ward councillor Stephen Thompson.
