ANNAN trainer Ba Ba Metcalfe returned to the victory rostrum with a fine performance on Friday night by what he hopes will be an up and coming kennel star.

His 20-month-old dog Watchhall Vic led from the second bend of the 8 o’clock sprint race at Halcrow Stadium, Gretna to win by 1.25 lengths.

Nearest challenger was another Scottish-based 6/4 shot, Nee Looking.

There was a comfortable 4.25 lengths victory in the following sprint race by Cath Lister’s Aspatria-based greyhound Kyle Alpha.

The able two-year-old dog never looked challenged as she pull away from Scots fancy Hot Tim, a two-year-old dog from the Hornby kennels at Stranraer.

Bobby Lindsay’s three-year-old Dumfries dog Malonga notched up an impressive sprint race victory.

The 6/4 favourite powered home 4.5 lengths in front of Glasgow-based Honey Suckle.

Two Dumfries greyhounds were involved in a ding dong battle over the only 470 metres trip of the night.

Murray Aitken’s two-year-old bitch Cara finished half a length in front of Keith Geddes’ three-year-old dog Craft.
