The historic property was transformed into a Christmas Storyhouse by the Peter Pan Moat Brae Trust with a festive feast of activities inspired by children’s stories.
There were silly stories with Tony Bonning, rhymes and rhythms with Renita Boyle, art activities with graphic novelist Stref, as well as performances by fiddle player Fiona Munro and young musicians from The Music Room.
Youngsters enjoyed meeting The Grinch Who Stole Christmas and were given makeovers by Who Hairdressers from Dumfries and Galloway College and Who facepainters Trish Bate and Jade Jamieson.
And the Moat Brae Youth Forum organised a series of quizzes and challenges.
Over 450 people enjoyed the two days of events, which were the last before the Georgian house closed in preparation for its restoration.
It will now be transformed into a National Centre for Children’s Literature and Storytelling, reopening to the public in 2018.
