Christine Findlater has taken on the role, with Queens hoping that she will help improve communication between the club and the fans both face-to-face and via social media.
Speaking on behalf of the board, Mark Blount said: “It’s important that the fans have a single point of contact and Christine is now that.
“She has already built up contacts in the fan network within her role as end of season awards co-ordinator, her work with the club lottery, and dealing with the mascots and half time entertainment on match days.”
Initially, Christine will help with fan displays, pre-match information, fan forums and supporter requests and events with players, managers and officials.
The appointment followed a meeting that the club had earlier this year with Andrew Jenkins of Supporters Direct Scotland, who will continue to advise Queens, with the role still being in its infancy within Championship clubs.
Commenting on her appointment, an “excited” Christine said: “I’ve already started to do some background work and I hope to meet as many groups as possible.
“I want to build up the relationship between the club and the supporters groups, so I will be spending as much time as possible speaking to the fans.”
Mr Blount added: “We have been accused in the past of not communicating well enough with the supporters, so hopefully Christine’s appointment will bridge the gap.
“Christine has already came up with new ideas and looks forward to implementing them in the New Year. We hope the fans and supporters clubs embrace the appointment and we look forward to meeting with all to improve communication.”
