Two crashes within minutes on rural road

TWO separate single-vehicle accidents happened within 30 minutes and three miles of each other on a rural road near Annan on Monday afternoon.

LOW ROAD CRASH . . . the driver of this car escaped serious injury after it ended up in a field, near Broom Cottage, east of Cummertrees

Police and ambulance crews attended the B724, near Brooms Cottage, east of Cummertrees, around 2.50 pm after a Dacia Duster left the road, ploughed through a hedge and rolled over before ending upright in the middle of a field.

The young driver, a woman understood to be from the Powfoot area, was checked over by an ambulance crew at the scene and was found to have escaped with only minor injuries.
