Fans invited to monthly QoS meetings

QUEEN of the South have opened up their monthly supporters meetings to all fans.

The change will kick off next month, with the decision made at Monday’s meeting in an effort to improve communication with supporters.

Officials, staff and club volunteers met with supporters groups to listen to ideas on how the club could benefit moving forward, as well as introducing the new supporters liaison officer, Christine Findlater, and disabled access officer Eric Slaven.
QoS director Mark Blount chaired the meeting of around 20 representatives such as the Queens Trust, The Doonhamers Travel Club, Barflies, Devorgilla, The New Bazaar Doonhamers, and the QOSDSA.
Gordon Harper, fan representative, said: “It was a good turn out from all interested parties, it opens the lines of communication and it’s an improvement, but there’s a bit to go. Hopefully it will lead to something positive.”
Following the meeting, Mr Blount said: “We would like to get to the point where we have a committee set up who can help the club take a look at events, including ways of marking our centenary in 2019 as well as fundraising and help recruiting news fans.”
Christine Findlater added: “It was our first meeting and I think it was a good starting point.
“The club are looking to do their bit to help improve communication and we’re now looking for the fans to do theirs by sharing their thoughts.”
Supporters meetings will be taking place on the first Monday of each month starting in March, at The Arena at 7 pm.
Anyone wishing to attend to share thoughts or ideas should contact Christine on 01387 254853 or email [email protected].
