A BORDER kennels notched up a winning double on fast going at Gretna greyhound racing on Friday night.

Basher Carmichael and Tina Robinson of Mill Hill, Longtown had two winners and one runner-up in 280 metres races.

The first victor was Pop On Roman, a 18-month-old dog, which led all the way to win by a 1.75 lengths margin.

Next home was Reel Muck, a two-year-old bitch from the Beith kennels at Falkirk.

The Longtown couple’s next success was with Freebie, a four-year-old dog, which powered through the field to win by .5 of a length from Willie Hyslop’s Kilmarnock entry Envoy.

Franney Hill’s two-year-old Hawick greyhound Golden Dream looked impressive as he stormed to a convincing five lengths sprint victory.

The Carmichael / Robinson partnership’s entry Envoy was in second place.
