Where's Doris?

FORECASTS of snow, strong winds and heavy rain in the region today have failed to materialise.

The Met Office had issued an amber warning for bad weather, including snowfalls of up to 20 cm on high ground, as part of Storm Doris.

Dumfries and Galloway Council were on standby too, as our picture from Harthill depot at Lockerbie shows.

However, weather watchers have been left scratching their heads after waking up today in many parts of the region to blue skies and mild temperatures.

Dumfries and Galloway Police said:”No major snow fall overnight and the region’s roads are running normally.”

Comments left on their Facebook page included Ryan Muir who this morning said: “This blizzard is so bad I think it’s invisible with this RAIN!! Usual scaremongering!!”
