The victory at Palmerston wrapped up the title with two games to spare, as Queens moved 12 points clear of the Greenock side who had inflicted one of Queens only two losses earlier in the campaign.
Youth coach Eddie Warwick was ecstatic at the win and said: “I’m absolutely delighted for the players winning the U20s Development West League.
“They have been great all season showing great attitude and dedication both on and off the pitch. They are not only a credit to themselves but to the whole of Queen of the South football club.”
He added: “I would like to thank the Queen of the South board and Jim Thomson, as well as all the fans and parents for there continued support this season.”
Ross Fergusson broke the deadlock early on with a shot across the keeper, before Aidan Smith’s glancing header went in off the post to double the advantage early in the second half.
Any lingering doubts were put to bed by two goals in the space of a minute, midway through the half.
Connor Murray struck twice, the first a low shot into the bottom corner from 25 yards.
Murray then seized on an error straight from the restart, making an interception and running straight through the middle of the Morton defence to tuck the ball home bringing Queens tally to four.
