A CONSTRUCTION company in the region has entered liquidation — following a vote by creditors on Wednesday.

Goodman Home Improvements Ltd is now being liquidated, but is a separate company from Good Man Dumfries Limited which was formed in September last year.
However, both firms are registered at the same address at St Mary’s Industrial Estate in Dumfries, and in the last two weeks no contact has been possible with the latter company which also has Lindsay ‘Lenny’ Morris as a director and has a website which is currently inaccessible.
Speaking on Wednesday, and addressing the status of Goodman Home Improvements Ltd, Linda Barr of chartered accountants French Duncan LLP said: “The creditors’ meeting was held today.
“All the creditors were notified of that, and the company has gone into liquidiation today.”
Goodman Home Improvements Ltd was incorporated on August 25 2004 and has provided bathrooms, kitchens, doors and windows, roofing work and extensions and conservatories.
Explaining how the liquidation has come about, Miss Barr, who is French Duncan LLP’s restructuring and debt advisory director, said: “This is a creditors’ voluntary liquidation. The company have sought advice to put the company into liquidation and that resolution is ratified by creditors at the creditors meeting that was held today.”
After an advert appeared in local press last Friday, and with the creditors’ meeting being held in Blantyre, she added: “The paperwork was signed to put the company into liquidation on May 4, because we have to give creditors seven days notice and we have to advertise.
“That’s why the creditors meeting hasn’t been held until today.”
With a vote on Wednesday by creditors to approve the liquidation, French Duncan LLP will now begin the work to assess Goodman Home Improvements Ltd’s assets in a bid to realise monies owed to creditors.
Ms Barr said: “We’re the liquidators. We look to realise all the assets for the benefits of creditors, and creditors will receive a report on that in due course.”
Attempts have been continuing to make contact with Good Man Dumfries Limited at St Mary’s Industrial Estate to determine what effect, if any, the move will have on that separate company.
