M74 crash victim named

THE man who died in a road traffic collision on the M74 near Eaglesfield last week has been named.

He was Robert Sharp, 50, from Maryhill, Glasgow.
Mr Sharp was the passenger in a grey Peugeot 307 car which was in collision with a white Scania lorry on the southbound carriageway near junction 20 just after 4 pm last Wednesday.
Police are still appealing for witnesses to the fatal incident and Sergeant Leigh McCulloch, of the Trunk Roads Policing Group at Lockerbie, said: “We want to hear from anyone who may have been on the A74(M) around this time near the locus and who may have witnessed the crash. The crash happened on the southbound carriageway about half a mile south of the Eaglesfield junction.
“We would also be keen to hear from anyone who may have seen either the grey coloured Peugeot 307 car or the white coloured Scania lorry as they headed south prior to the crash.”
Anyone who has any information which they would want to pass on can call the Trunk Roads Policing Group at Lockerbie on the 101 number.”
