And pit stops were provided in Moffat and Eskdalemuir for the participants in the Audax London-Edinburgh-London 1415 km challenge.
Volunteers have been manning 24 hour food and rest stations at Moffat Academy and the Eskdalemuir hub throughout this week.
The ride started in Essex at 5 am last Sunday morning and it is expected to take about 116
hours to complete with the riders having until Friday to cross the finish line. Many of those taking part are tweeting their progress online.
London-Edinburgh-London is regarded as one of the UK’s greatest cycling challenges and includes 11,128m of climbing.
