The £540,000 fund was created by SSE Renewables as compensation for using the town as a HGV route for a few months in 2015.
And £120,000 of that was on offer to medium sized projects, which went head to head in a public vote last weekend.
In the space of a few hours more than 500 voters passed through Moffat Town Hall to find out more and pick their favourites.
They had the chance to speak to the teams behind the 15 final projects vying for a chance to receive a share of the cash.
After three hours, the ballot box closed and the counting commenced, with ten of the projects able to secure a share of the money.
SSE’s community investment manager Gareth Shields said: “We had no idea whether there would be five or 500 people coming to vote.
“It was fantastic to see such a large turnout and we would like to thank each and every individual for coming along and taking the time to speak to the different project representatives.
“We would also like to thank all of the projects for their hard work in ensuring the day was a success.”
He added: “There was a real buzz of enthusiasm around the hall and I hope that everyone who took part found it useful.
“The results of the event bring the total grant awards to £520,000, and SSE is very pleased with the wide range of projects funded.
“We will be visiting Moffat over the coming months to see how each project is progressing and hope that they go a long way to help the town fulfil the ambitions of its Community Action Plan.”
Meanwhile, small projects in the area still have a chance to grab a slice of £20,000 from the fund, which will be handed out by Moffat Community Council in the near future.
