New way to find your dream job

DNG Media have teamed up with an innovative recruitment company to help locals find their dream job

Christopher Snelgrove and Laura Saunders founded Hijobs in 2014 as a direct response to the problems faced by local people – how do you find a job that will allow you to live and work in rural Scotland?
Hijobs primary focus is getting candidates in front of recruiters.
Everything is built on the premise of making the technology as simple to use as possible for candidates and recruiters alike.
Originally established to help people living in the Highlands and Islands and Argyll and Bute land their dream job, Hijobs have now teamed up with local newspaper group, DNG Media, publishers of the Dumfries Courier, Annandale Observer, Annandale Herald and Moffat News and operators of dng24.co.uk.
Feeling that the Dumfries and Galloway lifestyle and job market was similar to that of the Highlands, Christopher and Laura say Hijobs is just what the area needs.
Laura said: “I am passionate about giving local people the same, if not better, access to jobs as people living in the bigger cities and towns.
“Just because you want to live somewhere slightly more remote doesn’t mean you deserve a second-class service.
“No one else caters for smaller communities the way Hijobs does and no one else has the unique technology that Hijobs is built upon.”
She added: “We want Hijobs to empower people to live and work in their local communities and crucially we want to make using that power as simple as possible, straight from their pocket using their phones or tablets.”
The sign-up process is simple, just go to hijobs.net/account/register - and you will soon have a steady flow of suitable jobs delivered straight to your mobile and remember to check your local newspaper weekly for job listings.
What makes Hijobs so special?
n It is a local service with national capability
n It works on all devices and crucially you can apply for a job straight from your pocket using your phone
n Once you have uploaded your documents they are there for you to use at the click of a button
n You can set up specific job alerts to guarantee you get to know about the new jobs first
n Integration with social media means that this multichannel approach achieves a higher reach for local recruiters
