As the Duchess of Cambridge laboured in London on Monday, the maternity wing at the new Dumfries hospital was busy with midwives helping mums deliver their babies.
Katarzyna Szpak and Marcin Busk, of Dumfries, welcomed their second children at 1.47 pm on Monday.
Alex, who is a little brother for Olivia, arrived five days early and weighed 7lb 2oz.
Proud dad Marcin said: “It is something special.
“The midwives at the hospital came into the room to tell us the princess had also had her baby.”
Clare McCudden and Shaun Duffy from Annan welcomed their first child together at 17.33 pm.
Iris gave the couple an early surprise as she arrived 29 days and weighed just 6lb 8oz.
Natasha and Daniel Evans from Ecclefechan matched the royals and gave birth to a little boy.
Ruben was born at 9.11 pm and is a younger sibling for four-year-old Brandon and three-year-old Scarlett.
He weighed in at 7lb 9oz and mum Natasha yesterday said: “I knew while I was in labour that the princess had had her baby already, I thought it would never be my turn.
“I love that they were born on the same day, I think it is a nice little story.
“When we told people he was born they said ‘oh you’ve got a little prince of your own’.
“And we even have the same car seat as them. We were going to buy a different one but it wasn’t available so we got a free upgrade.
“If it is good enough for the royals, it is good enough for us.”
The new prince, who is fifth in line to the throne, was born at 11.01 am at The Lindo Wing of St Mary’s Hospital and weighed in at 8lb 7oz .
He is the sixth great-grandchild for the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh.
