The current quilters, embroidery and weaving display, that makes up the Fabric Fibre Thread: The Textiles Triennial” exhibition, has so far attracted over 500 visitors.
The pieces on show have been made by members of the centre’s various quilting, embroidery and weaving groups.
And members are often on hand to explain about the traditional, and sometimes contemporary, techniques used and to give talks about and demonstrations of their crafts.
This weekend there’s also a chance for people to try their hand at the art of tapestry weaving at locally-based weaver Katie Russell’s two-day workshop.
Councillor Tom McAughtrie, chairman of community and customer services, said: “It’s a chance to learn new skills, meet new people and enjoy a day of creativity.”
