Organised by All Under One Banner, the town centre event followed one in Glasgow last month and attracted indy supporters from across Scotland and of all ages.
They came as individuals and as part of different independence campaigns and the organisers have estimated that the protest was worth a quarter of a million pounds to the local economy.
